Samsung Galaxy F14 5G Review
Samsung has always been known for offering high-quality smartphones at various price points. Recently, they introduced a budget-friendly 5G smartphone, the Galaxy F14 5G.
Here, we will discuss the features, performance, and pricing of this value-for-money, to provid you with a comprehensive review to make an informed decision.
5G Compatibility and VoNR Support
The Samsung Galaxy F14 is Jio 5G compatible smartphone, and we tested it with a JIO SIM and found that it provided best internet speeds. We also tested the VoNR capabilities of the phone, and it worked seamlessly. This phone is a good option if you want to experience 5G calling without any issues.
The device also supports Voice over New Radio (VoNR) capabilities, ensuring seamless 5G calling without any issues.
Samsung Galaxy F14 5G Processor – Exynos 1330
The phone comes with a 5nm Exynos 1330 processor, which is a dual architecture processor with a 2.4GHz Cortex-A78 and a hexa-core of Cortex-A55. The performance of this processor is comparable to the Snapdragon 695, and you can expect good benchmarking results.
However, Exynos processors are not designed for gaming, so if you’re looking for a phone for gaming, this may not be the best option for you. The phone comes with 4GB or 6GB RAM options and LPDDR4X RAM and UFS storage, which provide good performance for regular tasks.
Design and Build
The phone has a plastic back and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front. It features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a headphone jack, and a single bottom-firing speaker. With a thickness of 9.4mm and a weight of 205 grams, the device feels bulky and heavy.
Display of Samsung Galaxy F14 5G
The Galaxy F14 comes with a 6.6-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The notch design, thick bezels, and low brightness in sunlight make the display feel outdated. However, the sharpness and refresh rate offer a decent viewing experience.
Samsung has equipped the Samsung Galaxy F14 5G with a 50MP primary camera which delivers impressive photo quality and the colors, dynamic range, and overall performance of this camera outshine other smartphones in the under ₹15,000 segment. The rear camera supports video recording at 1080p 30fps.
The 13MP selfie camera captures decent images but does not particularly stand out. The absence of an ultra-wide-angle lens is a notable drawback in the camera department.
Processor and Performance
The Samsung Galaxy F14 5G comes with a 5nm Exynos 1330 processor, which is related to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 in terms of performance. The Exynos 1330 features a dual-core Cortex-A78 and hexa-core Cortex-A55 architecture.
While the Exynos processors are not known for gaming prowess, they handle everyday tasks efficiently with moderate gaming experience.
Software: Samsung One UI 5.1
The smartphone runs on Samsung’s One UI 5.1, based on Android 13 out of the box. Samsung promises two major Android version updates and four years of security patches for the Galaxy F14. The software is a lighter version called One UI 5.1 Core, with some features removed to ensure smooth performance on the device.
Battery Life and Charging
The Samsung Galaxy F14 5G boasts a 6000mAh battery, providing excellent battery backup. However, the charging time is bit longer due to the 25W charging support compared to other phones in the market. The charger and Type-C cable are not included in the box, but the device can be charged with an existing Type-C charger.
